Please share a bit about yourself and your background as a 3D artist. Was there a particular moment, artwork, or artist that inspired you to dive into 3D art?
Hello 3D world!
I am Moein Allahyari, an architect and 3D designer. I graduated in architecture from the University of Art and Architecture in Pars (Tehran, Iran), and during my studies, I developed a deep interest in 3D visualization and realistic design in addition to theoretical knowledge.
I have been working professionally in the field of architecture and 3D visualization since 2018, gaining valuable experience in designing and visualizing various projects over the years.
The world of 3D visualization has always been exciting and fascinating to me. From the beginning, I was eager to turn my design ideas into reality and witness the transformation of 2D sketches into tangible and realistic images. The process of converting sketches into 3D volumes or visualizing a building's floor plan in 3D has always been a challenging and rewarding experience for me. The ability to simulate spaces and designs in a way that not only looks realistic but also conveys user experience and visual emotions is the driving force behind my passion in this field.

Could you describe your typical creative process when starting a new project, from ideation to completion?
My creative process for each project follows a structured yet flexible approach, covering everything from ideation to completion. Initially, I start by gathering essential information from the client and analyzing the project requirements. This stage includes understanding functional needs, preferred design styles, and project constraints.
Next, I move on to the research and inspiration phase, where I explore various sources such as similar projects, current design trends, and unique project features. This helps me shape initial ideas and establish a clear design direction.
Then comes the conceptual design phase, where I create hand sketches, initial 3D models, and explore different design possibilities. At this stage, I focus on form, space, and details to propose the best solutions.
Once the initial concept is approved, I proceed with the detailed 3D visualization. Using software such as 3ds Max and Corona Renderer, I develop high-detail 3D models, carefully adjusting lighting and materials to produce realistic and compelling visuals.
Finally, after thorough reviews and necessary refinements based on the client feedback, the project is completed and ready for presentation. My goal in every project is to deliver a unique and customized design that balances aesthetics with functionality.
What's the one tool or technique you couldn't live without?
The technique I couldn't live without is the use of hand sketches, light and shadow analysis, and attention to detail in modeling. Sketching allows me to quickly and freely visualize design ideas, helping me gain a deeper understanding of form, space, and proportions. This phase serves as a bridge between creative thinking and precise execution, providing a strong foundation for the design process. Light and shadow analysis is another key principle in my work. Studying how light interacts with surfaces and affects spaces helps me add depth, realism, and a unique identity to my projects.
Moreover, attention to detail and adding fine elements to 3D modeling play a crucial role in my design process. Focusing on intricate details and their precise execution enhances the visual richness of spaces and elevates the overall quality of the project. This approach allows me to create designs that are not only visually appealing but also highly functional and realistic.
How do you stay creatively inspired when working on long or challenging projects? Are there specific rituals or habits you follow to get into a creative mindset?
To stay creatively inspired during long or challenging projects, I use various methods that help me maintain focus and approach my work with fresh energy and perspective. One of the most important strategies is exploring inspiring projects and studying relevant resources. Observing outstanding architectural works, analyzing successful case studies, and keeping up with the latest design trends allow me to incorporate new ideas into my work and avoid monotony.
Additionally, taking short breaks and following a structured plan play a crucial role in enhancing productivity and preventing mental fatigue. Breaking the project into smaller tasks and focusing on each part separately helps me stay in control of the process and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Another habit that helps me get into a creative mindset is sketching and free ideation. This practice allows me to explore new ideas without technical constraints and find innovative solutions to project challenges.
Finally, engaging with others and seeking feedback is also a vital part of my creative process. Interacting with colleagues and other professionals provides fresh perspectives that can contribute to improving the project and boosting creativity.
What are the biggest lessons you've learned about managing deadlines and staying efficient?
The biggest lessons I've learned about managing deadlines and staying efficient are the importance of detailed planning and task prioritization. In various projects, breaking tasks down into smaller sections and setting short-term deadlines for each have helped me stay on track and avoid last-minute pressure.
Additionally, one of the key points for me is regularly monitoring progress. By consistently reviewing the project's progress and adjusting any deviations from the plan, I'm able to identify problems on time and find the necessary solutions.
Finally, regular breaks and energy management are crucial for maintaining focus and efficiency over time. When I feel that my work is reaching its peak, short and effective breaks help me refresh my mind and continue with renewed energy.

Let's delve into your project "Behrouz Karton Office". What was the inspiration behind it, and what were the main challenges you encountered during its development?
Project Inspiration: The main inspiration for the Behrouz Karton office project was the combination of modern design with a focus on functionality and comfort. Considering the company's needs and the nature of its activities, my goal was to create a space that simultaneously adhered to aesthetic principles while also prioritizing efficiency and employee comfort. For this reason, I utilized clean lines and natural light to create a bright and user-friendly environment. Additionally, the combination of materials and design details was carefully chosen to reflect the brand's identity.
Project Challenges: One of the main challenges was coordinating with the client to fully understand their needs and expectations. Some design details were continuously reviewed and adjusted to ensure that both functional and aesthetic requirements were properly incorporated into the project. Another challenge was managing costs. The client wanted to control the project’s expenses, so design solutions had to be presented in a way that was both cost-effective and of high quality. This forced us to select specific materials and implement precise execution methods to maintain both the budget and the project’s quality.
What software, renderer and plugins did you use for this particular project?
For the Behrouz Karton office project, I used AutoCAD during the detailing phase and to create construction drawings. For modeling, I used 3ds Max, and for rendering, I used the Corona plugin to ensure high-quality renders and showcase the intricate details effectively.

Looking back at your journey as a 3D artist, what do you consider to be your most significant milestone or achievement thus far, and why?
One of my most significant achievements in my professional journey has been finding a balance between continuous learning, maintaining discipline, and staying persistent in my growth. For me, the turning point came when I was able to execute projects that excelled not only technically but also creatively and innovatively.
Consistency in learning and striving to keep my skills up to date allowed me to master new tools and techniques. On the other hand, I learned the importance of organization and planning in projects, which had a remarkable impact on delivering high-quality results on time.
This combination of persistence, discipline, and continuous learning enabled me to complete projects that truly reflect my identity as a 3D artist.
Are there any new art movements, developments, or industries (e.g. AI, gaming, film, virtual reality) that you're excited to explore further?
One area I'm particularly excited to explore is the integration of artificial intelligence with 3D design and visualization processes. AI has the potential to make designs faster, more creative, and even more personalized. From automated modeling to algorithmic generation of details, this technology can be a powerful tool for artists.
Additionally, the world of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) is incredibly intriguing to me. The idea of creating spaces that users can immerse themselves in, offering them a real-life experience of a design, is highly exciting.
The gaming and film industries are also areas I've always admired, as they combine storytelling with visual design. Working on projects that can visually represent impactful narratives through 3D design is one of my goals for the future.
Overall, advancements in these fields inspire me to learn and discover more creative ways to approach my work.
What advice would you give to aspiring 3D artists who are just starting their careers or looking to take their skills to the next level?
For aspiring 3D artists who are just starting their careers or looking to take their skills to the next level, I would advise them to never stop learning. The 3D design industry is rapidly advancing, and new tools and techniques are constantly being introduced. Therefore, staying up-to-date with your skills and continuously learning is extremely important. Also, it's crucial for artists to pay special attention to design fundamentals such as lighting, composition, and attention to detail. These principles are just as important as mastering software. Even if you have the best tools at your disposal, without a solid understanding of these principles, your work may not be impactful or professional. Finally, I recommend always taking on personal projects or new challenges. These experiences help you strengthen your skills and take bigger steps toward progressing in your career.
Finally, what's next on your artistic horizon? Are there any exciting projects or goals you're eager to pursue soon?
Currently, one of my main goals is to expand my scope with international projects. I am looking for projects that allow me to gain new experiences and incorporate innovative, global ideas into my designs. I also plan to continue refining and improving my portfolio so that I can attract larger and more challenging projects while expanding my team. Projects where I can apply all the knowledge and techniques I’ve gained over time are particularly exciting to me.
