About me.

Hello 3D community,

My name is Rita Nassour, and I am an interior designer and CGI artist. I worked with both local and international companies for almost five years.

I gained valuable experience in different markets and cultures. As a CGI Artist, I firmly believe creativity has no limits. I am incredibly passionate about this field and constantly driven to push the boundaries of what is possible.

I am always eager to learn new techniques and skills. There are no limits to the creative potential in CGI, and I feel fortunate to immerse myself in this exciting, ever-evolving medium.



About the Project.

I initially started this project quite randomly. I was watching Game of Thrones and became captivated by the breathtaking colors, moods, and Natural elements woven throughout the episode.

Inspired by this, I decided to create a series of small-scale scenes- a kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom, where I could seamlessly integrate the feeling of nature into each space.

Using a minimal, neutral color palette focused on earthy tones, I aimed to evoke a sense of tranquillity and connection to the natural world.

As I designed these spaces, I imagined inhabiting them, relishing the opportunity to relax and feel immersed in the soothing vibes of the natural environment.

Adding to this, I also incorporated some of my favorite paintings that I found on 3dsky onto the walls of each room, further enhancing the serene, nature-inspired ambiance.



Software Used.

For this project, the software used was 3ds Max, Corona Renderer, Quixel Bridge, and Adobe Photoshop for post-production.



3D Modeling.

I modeled each space as separate files to maintain a cohesive, nature-centric mood while allowing for distinct lighting treatments in each room.

This approach gave me control over factors like illumination and atmospheric qualities.

I carefully modeled the walls, windows, and architectural arches, modeling the kitchen scene aside from the small furnishing like the table, pendant light, and accessories.

Across the different rooms, I limited the number of openings to one to four, strategically positioned to allow natural light to flood the spaces and enable lush greenery to grow along the walls.

For the flooring, I utilized the Floor Generator script. The arched wall elements were modeled to evoke a Mediterranean aesthetic, functioning as both framing for the artwork and open passageways for the light and greenery.



3D Assets.

I primarily sourced my 3D assets from the 3Dsky library. The lush, verdant plants captivate the eye with their meticulously crafted details, and the artwork pieces featured on the walls are highly detailed, command attention, and serve as focal points.

Additionally, the accessories from the Quixel library land an aged natural vibe that seamlessly integrates with the overall aesthetic.



Materials.

To achieve the desired earthy, organic aesthetic throughout the spaces, I primarily sourced my materials from the Poliigon Library.

For the concrete material on the walls, I used the concrete material from Poliigon in 8k resolution named Rammedearth018.

I used the Poliigon in 4k resolution named woodfine013 for the wood material. 

I applied a coronacolorcorrection to fine-tune the gamma values and tint color to match my vision.

For the kitchen walls, I used concrete material from the Corona material library and made a small adjustment.

The accessories and small tables are from Quixel and already have a lovely aged, natural quality that compliments the design.

Finally, for the carpet, I used an image mapping it to Corona Legacy material and added a subtle bump to enhance it.



Lighting.

Lighting was crucial in establishing the serene, nature-centric ambiance throughout the interior spaces.

Inspired by the evocative golden-hued lighting seen in many Game of Thrones scenes, I crafted a sunset mood for the interior using the Corona sun and Corona sky only.

This warm, enveloping illumination not only imbued the spaces with a sense of tranquillity but also allowed me to highlight the artwork featured on the wall.

By limiting the number of openings in each room to one or two strategically placed windows, I could concentrate the natural light and cast dramatic shadows from the openings.

The sharp, directional quality of the corona sun, set to a size of 2, heightened this effect, creating a tangible, nature-inspired energy that drew the viewer’s eye toward the artwork.

Through this carefully considered approach, I was able to craft a restorative, atmospheric environment that invited contemplation and evoked the captivating visual language of Game of Thrones.



Framing.

When composing the shots for each room, I deliberately applied principles of the rule of thirds and golden spiral to guide the viewer’s eye and maintain a consistent focus on the artwork featured on the walls.

The rule of thirds helped me frame the rooms in a visually balanced way, while the golden spiral added a subtle, organic sense of movement that drew the eye toward the artwork.



Post-Production.

I import all rendered frames in Photoshop, utilizing the wirecolor, CMasing_ID, and CMasking_wirecolor to isolate and adjust the exposure and gamma of each object as needed.

The attention to detail ensured that the lighting and toned values were balanced across the composition.

From there, I made targeted adjustments to enhance the mood and atmosphere further, increasing the overall exposure to infuse the spaces with warmth, adding contrast to heighten the depth, and tuning the color temperature to achieve a rich, sunset-inspired palette.

Finally, I applied a subtle vignette, drawing the viewer’s eye towards the central focal point.
