The Bad Guys are back, and they’re not alone! DreamWorks Animation has dropped the official trailer for The Bad Guys 2, and let’s just say, things are about to get hilariously chaotic!
From Notorious to Noble-ish.
Our favorite felonious crew, Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Shark, Mr. Piranha, and Ms. Tarantula, is trying to stay on the straight and narrow. But old habits die hard, and reforming isn’t as easy as it looks especially when you’ve previously robbed the same bank three time!
According to the trailer, their lives take a twist when a new crew of criminals enters the scene. Meet The Bad Girls, a trio of cunning newcomers led by Kitty Kat, a dangerously clever snow leopard, and featuring Pigtail, a Bulgarian wild boar engineer, and Doom, a wry raven with a knack for deception.
The Plot Thickens.
What starts as a globe-trotting heist masterminded by The Bad Girls soon pulls The Bad Guys back into their old ways. Their reluctant motto? “We just gotta do this one last job.” Of course, hilarity ensues panicked decisions, masterful or not disguises, and plenty of snarky dialogue. Highlights from the trailer include Mr. Shark’s questionable attempts at playing respectful roles, Mr. Snake’s unexpected girlfriend-in-mouth situation, and Kitty Kat’s spicy insults that leave even Mr. Wolf blushing.
The Voices Behind the Chaos.
The film boasts an incredible voice cast. Returning stars include:
- Sam Rockwell as the suave Mr. Wolf
- Marc Maron as the ever-grumpy Mr. Snake
- Craig Robinson as the endlessly entertaining Mr. Shark
- Anthony Ramos as the explosive Mr. Piranha
- Awkwafina as the tech-savvy Ms. Tarantula
Joining them are Danielle Brooks as the bold leader Kitty Kat, Maria Bakalova as the ingenious Pigtail, and Natasha Lyonne as the ever-sly Doom. With comedic heavyweights like these, you’re guaranteed a laugh-out-loud experience.
Behind the Scenes.
Director Pierre Perifel returns to helm this animated gem, joined by co-director JP Sans and producer Damon Ross. The score is once again in the capable hands of Daniel Pemberton, whose music adds the perfect zing to the film’s high-octane antics.
Book Lovers, Rejoice!
If you’ve been a fan of Aaron Blabey’s The Bad Guys book series, which has skyrocketed from 8 million to over 30 million copies sold since the first movie’s release in 2022, this sequel promises to do justice to its literary roots while pushing the boundaries of creativity and comedy.
Why You Can’t Miss This!
The trailer teases a wild ride full of twists, turns, and non-stop laughs. Whether it’s Mr. Wolf’s moral dilemmas, Mr. Snake’s signature grumpiness, or the fiery energy of The Bad Girls, this sequel delivers everything fans loved about the first film and more.
Mark your calendars (August 1, 2025) and prepare for a heist like no other—The Bad Guys 2 is set to take over the silver screen soon. Because sometimes, being a little bad is the best way to be good!
